Michael Tanaka

As the leader of the Business & Tax Division, Michael drives operations, sets strategic direction, and cultivates a team of skilled professionals. Committed to excellence, he works diligently to stay abreast of the latest tax laws and industry trends, offering clients and N&K's team a wealth of valuable knowledge.

Michael graduated from Kalani High School, earning his Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Hawaii at Manoa before becoming a Certified Public Accountant in the state of Hawaii and a Chartered Global Management Accountant. Michael joined N&K in 1985 as a Staff Accountant and became a Principal in 2010.

His community and industry involvements include the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Hawaii Society of Certified Public Accountants (former President), CPAmerica, and is the current Treasurer of Harris Preschool since 2011.
